This series of photographs serves to further explore the city as a persona. The dress, though a stand-alone piece, could be portrayed in a variety of ways though with the medium of photography, the intended emotion and atmosphere could be deliberately captured. The photographs also explore different usages of lighting and space as well as movement. Photographs of the dress are coupled with scenes of Providence at night. The identity of the city itself – the monuments or other landmarks – are, however, not emphasized in order to convey a more universal persona of the city. The photographs also evoke an atmosphere of the flapper era, hinting at a similar sort of anxiety and imprisonment though in a modern, updated light.
