Personal project in tribute to NZ's critically endangered Maui dolphin.
Over the past 40 years, fishing nets have killed more than 95 percent of the Māui dolphin.

Although there are only around 50 Māui dolphins left [that’s 13 less than when I painted this mural, less than 2 years ago] just 19 percent of their habitat is protected from fishing with gillnets and just five percent from trawling. Under these conditions, the dolphins’ extinction is inevitable.
