Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism

This voken/takeover was designed to evoke the power of North America's first sunrise by fully blacking out the users screen and fading to daylight. The voken unit features a full width leaderboard unit (960x90) and animated big box.
Screen grab of Globe and Mail 'Sunrise' voken takeover to coincide with new TV spot launches.
Newfoundland and Labrador is an exotic, one-of-a-kind destination. Unlike any other place in North America, only we can say we're as far east as you can possibly go -- without getting wet. It's the only place where you can see the continent's first sunrise. Our location perfectly positions us as one of those bucket-list mandatories or belt-notching destinations. After all, when you're standing at the ends of the earth -- the most easterly point in North America -- where the sun rises first, this place has the ability to make a morning person out of just about anyone.
Shaped over centuries by countless fabled influences, the language of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province's most charming and irresistible quality. A fascinating mosaic of words, phrases and accents make our speech as colourful as the land where it is spoken. There are hundreds of English dialects found here -- more than anywhere else in the world, and enough to merit our very own dictionary. While the art of conversation has long been forgotten elsewhere, it thrives right here. The spontaneity and friendliness of our people means that a simple nod, wink or wave can turn into something truly special -- and, perhaps more importantly, the beginning of a story with no end in sight.
