This project was a large undertaking with extensive research, writing, image gathering, and of course design. The main source of research material was the city I live in, San Francisco, which has an active music scene and a huge variety of bands, record stores, and live venues. I mentally and physically recorded images, sounds, musicians, and other traces of local alternative music.
This book is dedicated to 1990’s Alternative Rock, with a strong personal and conceptual context. I conducted extensive research, wrote text, took photographs, and created the images. I also attended many alternative rock music performances. In the end, I was happy to be able to express my personal view of Alternative Rock music through this book.
