I had the pleasure to animate this piece Directed & Designed by Santi Zoraidez.
The rhythm & pace have a really important roll on this project. Everything flows naturally from one scene to the other. It's like a chain reaction of movement.
Once I received final styleframes from Santi, all beautiful & ready to be animated, I just let myself go and started animating: moving shapes around, rotating them, making them collide, adding deformers, making elements pop in & out from one frame to the other. So much fun!
Camera movements, all the crazy rotations, zooms & the editing is done by me. I just can't separate animating & editing a piece... makes no sense to me :)
Finally, the Music & Sound Design is by the brilliant team at Zelig Sound, Matt & Aleah always bring to life and add so much character to our animations. Top-notch!

THE PROCESS
I love keyframes, a lot of people would try to achieve this type of project with physics simulations. But my experience is that you would end up with some pretty random results.
I needed to have precise control on when certain objects bounced, or have control of the exact moment the big object hit the floor and made the little ones react. I would say 90% is handmade keyframe animation.. and only 2 or 3 little moments have 3D simulations. I'm proud of that! LOL.
