Here is the new project I am working on. It was made in collaboration with Monorave.
I have created wine labels. These photos were taken by Monorave.
It is an imaginary product. And we made it just for practice in this format.
First of all, I wanted to make something that would catch my eye while browsing the store.
From that point on, I began researching different bottles of wine in stores and online.
Therefore, I decided what was important to me in the illustration of this label:
- bright and simple image
- watercolor illustration.
After my research, I ended up on this version:
- Spanish wine from a non-existent vineyard
- 1 or 2 characters and a simple landscape in the background
- 4 different illustrations for 4 sirts of wine (2 red, 1 white, 1 pink).
When I started drawing characters, the idea evolved.
The story appeared.
My main hero is very similar to Holland's redhead artist.
However I decided to tell his life story in a more optimistic way.
So, the history evolved into several labels.
Initially, Van Gogh is going to hitchhike alone.
In the following illustration, we can see a woman who is looking away and waiting for someone.
On the final illustration we can see our characters together. They met each other and they are happy.
We came up with a name very quickly. Monorave proposed calling the Wine Goghe.
I did the lettering by hand with black marker after not long experiments.
Some words about photoshooting.
At the beginning we wanted to take a photo of the bottles just on the colorfull background.
But then we decided to do it something more interesting. And we did "dancing bottles".
We used threads for this, which were tied to bottle necks.
The result is in front of you.
