This is my first venture into this traditional painting technique utilizing digital tools (Photoshop with Goro Brushes).

I love the ability to create texture and hope to learn how to eventually sculpt light. The ability to composite this type of artwork into animation has captivated my interest for story development.

I heard of a man (Kyle Brush) who was bored at lunch staring at the texture of the beet juice from his salad. He thought “Wow that is an interesting texture. I wonder if I could make a custom brush out if it for Photoshop.”

He did and now his more than 1,000 custom brushes are part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud.

Recently working on an illustration for an e-sports championship introduced me to a set of brushes by the brilliant illustrator VR painter Goro Fujita. He records his Photoshop painting process as tutorials that you can watch if you subscribe on Patreon. I studied his illustration style and feverishly took notes from his videos and took a crack at painting in Photoshop.
