In this project we wanted to showcase the city of Tirgu Mures from its past architecture to the near future for any traveler. The cover is a depiction of all the major transportation network hubs over the cities existence. 

Our first challenge for this project was finding a direction for the small book. Since the old book needed a redesign we went ahed and brainstormed ideas and possibilities. We chose this design since it was the most ideal format for a small book that showcased the cities major atractions.

The major questions were: 

1. What and how to show this medieval city in a book in this day and age?

2. What keywords describes this project/book best?

3. How to show and print the design?

For the first question I wanted to break down the cities elements in colors, moods and design elements. Since the intention was to show a modernizing city that went trough histories marches it need to show a direction for the future as well. Therefore the cover has four stages of the cities history and it showcases it's major traveling hubs throughout the cities 800 year old history.

The keywords that best described this book was modern, traveler, medieval, historical, dated, growing, vision, direction, journey, preservation.

The design itself was created to be simple yet understandable that this a travelers book. We wanted to show the ups and down of the city so I chose to incline the imagery on it like on a graph. The images chosen are the main gates where travelers would enter the city throughout history and therefore showing any turist or traveler that passes by what is worth seeing in this small city in the heart of Transylvania.
