Skyline Drive - Type Hike Poster
Type Hike is a collaborative non-profit design project that celebrates and supports the outdoors through typography. It was created by David Rygiol and James Walker. The project was born from the belief that all designers are obligated to use their talent and ability to make the world a more beautiful place.
I visit Skyline Drive almost every time I am home and I always find myself in awe of it's beauty. I strove to capture it's precariousness, sharp curves, and tunnels in this poster.
My concept was to treat the type as if I were going through the park itself. Skyline Drive is one long, connected road that winds, doubles back, and changes in elevation. Throughout the concept phase I was influenced by vintage travel posters and isometric illustration.
