gyptian
Gyptian is a platform for art, photography and culture in Egypt.

While putting together our platform, we removed the 'e' from Egyptian,
the 'e' that's so synonymous with the online, digital, unreal aspects of our lives.
Without the 'e', we're all Gyptian: grounded, experiential, and engaging with
the nation we call home.

Design Concept

We removed the “E” in Egyptian. But, that did a massive impact.

“The ‘e’ that’s so synonymous with the online, digital, unreal aspects of our lives.
Without the ‘e’, we’re all gyptians - grounded and experiential - interacting with everyday Egypt.”

The absence of the “E” has a meaning now.

The absence of the “E” brought us back to the real world.

The real places.
The real people.
The real emotions.
The real photos.

What is unique about a photograph?
It’s dimension. A photograph can be produced in multiple sizes.

Seeing as gyptian is a platform for photography, arts and culture, I found the need to develop a dynamic visual identity.
An identity which is capable of developing on its own for each event gyptian represents. The aim is to give the brand that space to adapt, evolve and breath the different platforms that fall under the arts and culture - specifically what gyptian represents.
