Septentrion | Acoustic Guitar Concept

//INTRODUCTION
Yousician approached me looking for a concept design of a guitar and stand within the following criteria:
- Original & Timeless with a nordic feel.

During the course of two months, I worked closely with the client exploring shapes, materials and generating CGI of the concept. As I was sitting in France while designing this guitar, I chose to name the concept Septentrion, which has multiple symbolic values. The word itself is an obsolete Latin word (septentriō, septentriōnem - the northern regions, the north, from septentriones the seven stars near the north pole), earlier used in France and England to describe the north.

The stand was originally inspired by old drawing compasses for the shape, with the characteristical arc on top. As Yousician educates their users in the use of instruments, the drawing compass symbolizes Yousician offering a tool to their users to learn and perfect their music.

In addition, the inner contour of the circle resembles two encircled mountain tops as a hint to the mountains in the north.
