Hazardous endeavour (2013)
35.5 x 20"
Matte painting done in Photoshop
High above the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the gas giant, massive gas mining pipes jut above the stormy clouds like daggers driven into the planet, sucking out its very essence to power the mighty industries of humanity.
Vessels long repurposed from their ancient naval days patrol the skies. Their task is a hazardous but essential one, having to plug leakages in the midst of high-pressure gas leaks, which are often volatile and unstable. But without these unsung heroes the colonized worlds in the system could never have prospered and flourished.
