MARKETING PRINT DESIGN
Throughout my 5 year career at Smead Manufacturing, my favorite project was the 2016 New Product Guide (above & below). Not only did we give this annual piece a sleek and simplified long over due face lift but we also switched up size and orientation. We went with a horizontal, tabloid sized tri-fold. Talk about attention grabbing!

I started with the stock image for the cover. I added two of the new featured products to the desktop along with a screen grab of the Smead website for the computer screen. The image edits were all done in Adobe Photoshop and then imported into the layout spread via InDesign.
When the marketing lead at Teachers On Call contacted me, he was determined to give this light hearted and child focused brand a complete make-over.  When they came to me their marketing pieces were text/information heavy and lacked the proper visual flow to keep viewers attention. We used various versions of the same dog throughout a 12 month postcard mailing campaign to attract the light hearted and caring individuals they wanted to be part of the TOC team.  This campaign was a complete success!
ILLUSTRATION
This Illustration project was created for a T-shirt company that I freelance for. Their client submitted the "before" artwork and they needed the raster image recreated in vector form so they could silk screen it in 5 spot colors.  I used Adobe Illustrator to redraw the illustration from scratch and make the requested updates to the artwork.  By the time I was done drawing, trapping and preparing the artwork for screen print, I would say it was a good 5-6 hour project.
SOCIAL  MEDIA CONTENT
I am well seasoned in all areas of social media graphics, content and management. I have grown several social media channels of my own over the years as well as for a handful of clients. I am most familiar with Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and WordPress blogs.

I am also very familiar with creating and monitoring Facebook Ad Campaigns.
LOGO DESIGNS
Logo designs are one of my most popular requests from my clients. I use Adobe Illustrator for design logos because I think it's important to create a vector logo that is able to be scaled to any size and edited for any platform.
PHOTO EDITING
Photo editing is my 2nd favorite and 2nd strongest area of design. It falls right under print design. I have learned all the Photoshop and Lightroom tricks over the years as a professional portrait and wedding photographer.  I have "enhanced" a lot of images for my employers and clients. I love hearing them say "How on earth did you do that?!"  Ha!   I love having magical photo powers!

This is also why I never "believe" any photos that I see online because I know how easy it is to manipulate what our eyes can see.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I have owned and operated my own portrait and wedding photography business for the past 17 years. I have never had any formal photography training, it's just always been a natural talent of mine.  I really enjoy getting to capture everyone's unique stories through my lens.  I have used both Nikon and Cannon digital SLR cameras and I have to say that my Nikon D750 with my 50mm lens is by far my best performer.
