SAILING's new front page design features a dynamically resizing, enlargeable "Photo of the Week" with links to a directory of photographers with information about them, links to their websites and ways to contact them. The magazine's columnists are highlighted alongside the main current feature article.

Along with ad management functions, the SAILING site has a reader comment system and an interactive events calendar. Search engine optimization (SEO) and backup/restore features were included with many other tools for site administrators.

When mobile device browsers encounter the SAILING site, they are automatically presented with a trimmed-down page layout to accommodate their small screens. (Not bad for 2008!)
