Brooks Koepka Wins 2019 PGA Championship

An accomplished golfer, Peter Starr was the first freshman to make the varsity team in 14 years at his Ohio high school. In addition to having played at several prominent courses in Ohio and throughout the US, Peter Starr has attended multiple PGA Tour events.

The PGA Tour hosts multiple tournaments per year, but four stand out as more important than the others due to their prestige, history, and prize award. The US Open, The Open Championship, The Masters, and The PGA Championship are considered the tour's four major events. While the PGA Championship is typically held in August, the 2019 event took place in May and was won by rising star Brooks Koepka.

The 29-year-old held a seven-stroke lead entering the final round and held on for a two-stroke win over second-place finisher Dustin Johnson. Koepka, who also won last year's PGA Championship, is now only the fourth player to win four majors over a run of eight tournament entries. The other three are Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Ben Hogan. This isn't the first time Koepka has successfully a major championship; he won the US Open in both 2017 and 2018.
