EL PESO DE SOSTENER / THE WEIGHT OF SUSTAINING
La obra de la artista plantea espacios arquitectónicos, grandes estructuras vistas desde distintos ángulos.
Eso fue el resultado de la búsqueda frente a la pregunta sobre el cambio de visión viniendo de una ciudad chica del interior a una gran ciudad como Buenos Aires, donde la mirada es hacia arriba, donde se sintió intimidada y a la vez atraída por los grandes edificios de hormigón. Esa atracción se afianzó cuando viajó a Japón y más precisamente a las islas Naoshima y Teshima, donde pudo vivenciar grandes obras arquitectónicas hechas íntegramente en este material y contemplar el minimalismo en su máxima expresión.
Esta experiencia de alguna manera influyó en su trabajo, acercandola cada vez más a este nuevo material.
La obra nos invita a preguntarnos sobre la presencia de esta columna dorada, distinta al resto, que se sitúa atravesando la escena, es que acaso intentó derribar a las demás, o bien se podría pensar que cayó rendida frente la mayoría dominante.
The artist's work propose architectural spaces, large structures seen from different angles.
That was the result of the search in front of the question about the change of vision coming from an small city to a big one like Buenos Aires, where the look is up, where she felt intimidated and attracted by the big concrete buildings. That sensation got intensified when she traveled to Japan and more precisely to the islands of Naoshima and Teshima, where she could see the architectural works in this material and minimalism at its best.
This experience in some way influenced her work, approching her more to this material.
The work invites us to ask about the presence of this golden column, different from the rest, which is located crossing the scene, maybe is trying to overthrow the others, or one can think that it fell surrended to the dominant majority.
