Born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1952 the distinguished Georgian painter Gia Gugushvili graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1977 where he was a student in the class of a celebrated Georgian painter Prof. Koki Makharadze. Mr. Gugushvili’s paintings are regularly exhibited in Georgia and internationally, and his works have been kept in private and public collections and museums in Georgia, Switzerland, Germany, France, Russia, Japan and other countries. In addition to being a painter, Mr. Gugushvili has been actively involved in helping young generation of artists to develop through teaching and art programs at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and other venues. Mr. Gugushvili is a recipient of the highest Georgian professional award – State Prize in arts.
