Mixed Media & Assemblage - 2009
"Pas de Péché en Art" literally translates to "Sinful Steps in Art" or "No Sins in Art".
It is a wordplay that reflects the exhibition's artworks where subjects vary from nature to the human body to abstract concept. This exhibition represents a new phase in my work. After much experimentation with matter and mediums whether in painting or sculpting over the years, it is the first exhibition where I create combined pieces using assemblage and mixed media.
The main concept is the transformation of the traditional art tools: the palette, the brush, the rest, the chisel, etc have become the main elements in the composition of most artworks.
The tools are being elevated and given importance in times where the pixel is king.
