Breakfast at Tiffany's

Inspiration:
The Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classical movie in 1960s. The story was about Holly Golightly  (Audrey Hepburn), a charming socialite, living with her adorable cat in Manhattan, New York City. She spends her time on expensive dates and high-class parties.  My inspiration is from this movie, and I make the cat as the main character, and made it as one of my icons.  This cat is so lovely and has lots of imaginations. Whenever the cat sees Holly wears different pretty dresses, accessories and shoes every day, it imagines itself could look like Holly one day.

The cat is totally obsessed with Holly’s garments, accessories, and shoes, even her smoking pipe. The cat just wants to dress up like Holly. One day, when Holly has gone for a date, it starts to have a dress party at home. I start to draw the cat with 7 icons including: shoes, hat, dress, pipe, mask, necklace, and couch. I choose the pink as the background to make it with more girly and feminine look.
For Graphic 1, I draw a music note and some melodies with those icons. The cat likes to sit next to a window, listening to “Moon River”, the song Holly usually sings and plays with guitar.  “Moon River” is the theme song sung in the movie by Audrey Hepburn. Graphic 2 and 3 are two of the 7 icons in the bubbles around the cat. For Graphic 4, I made lots of bubbles with pink, tiffany blue, and yellow colors because I want to make it looks more like her fantasy. For Graphic 5, I change the bubble as Tiffany's blue color.
For Pattern 1 and 2, I choose the cat with hat as the single element of the patterns.  Pattern 1 is a lovely couple of cat; pattern 2 was inspired from the jellyfish drifting in the ocean. For Pattern 3 I put those fashionable icons together into a picture, repeating the patterns and giving it a dark background which I want to create a mysterious, dreaming, and fashionable motif. For Pattern 4, I use Graphic 2’s pattern, then make the patterns repeated.

The poster is the cat’s imagination. One day she becomes her master Holly that she could have some champagne in the big fancy house and enjoy her life.
