CG Animated Short Film: “Sweet Dreams”
Sweet Dreams is a 3D animated short film directed by Chloe(Lei) Tu and TINA YuanTing Chao.
PROJECT STATEMENT
Sweet Dreams is mainly about insomnia in a looping circumstance and the story takes place in a monster's world, where the inhabitants have a serious case of insomnia. The main character is also suffering from this sleeping disorder and only the sleeping pills from the Sweet Dreams company can help. The story line is based on a loop cycle, in which every link can affect each other. Visually the film has a vivid color tone with cute characters, and the environment looks lively and dramatic.

- BEHIND PRODUCTION -
We spent nearly 9 months on this project and basically went through the entire production pipeline from storyboard, concept art, design, modeling, texturing, cfx, vfx, lighting, rendering, compositing, music & sound effects to the final editing. The concept comes from both our daily experiences, we want to tell a story about insomnia but a little more than insomnia. In the production, the main software we use include Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Substance Painter and Adobe Suites.
