Biophilia is an expression of possessing an innate tendency to seek biological connections with nature. The word comes from a fusion of ‘bio’ which means biological and ‘philia’ which means the attractions and positive feelings that people have towards organism, species, habitats, processes and objects in their natural surroundings. The expression of this concept is objectified to incorporate green and sustainable design strategies into the architecture of Hentian Duta to enhance users’ experience reconnecting with the natural environment. However, insufficient of durable and sustainable facilities as well as the lack of modern technology and functional yet practical sustainable features in Hentian Duta cause slow development of the bus terminal, contradicting to the client’s mission and vision. Nevertheless, the potentiality of this concept allows design innovation consisting of sustainable and practical design features and facilities that can contribute to optimum bus terminal performance and positive environmental impacts. As companion, natural and artificial lighting are complemented into the design in order to provide best views of nature that can contribute to human’s growth of reconnection and love to nature. Ideation and visualisation of this concept creates a reconnection and attraction towards Mother Nature among users, resulting in confidence and growth in the client’s services that is in line with innovation, quality and commitment in a sustainable property development.
