Project Bio:
This project, titled "Today", is the second project in my series dealing with overcoming roadblocks or personal problems in a person's life.  These problems could include negative body image, self-harm, eating disorders, family problems, or other areas that one has difficulty.  The first step, illustrated in my first project (shown elsewhere) titled "Yesterday (Shadows)", shows hiding and putting up a barrier (the Plexiglass used) and not letting anyone know what is going on.  The subject is afraid of allowing people to see inner demons and does not know how to ask for help.

The second step, illustrated in this project, shows gradual self-exposure, opening up, and allowing others to see some of one’s inner demons.  However, the subject is still uncomfortable with people knowing about the demons and therefore continues to hide.  Understanding how to ask for help is unknown.  The barrier is no longer up and the subject is more exposed, yet still hides which is why most of the models’ faces are covered.  I chose to write things on the models’ bodies that described specific problems and issues in places that are normally covered up to emphasize exposure.
