This is a kinetic typography project for my Time-Based Design class, freshman year of college. This was the second project of the semester. The audio could be anything of our choice, since these projects are not for commercial purposes or really anything outside of being a school project.

The time constraint for this project was 2 weeks, and required the use of lights, cameras, and 3D layers. I personally experimented with particles and fire-like elements to further embrace the spirit and atmosphere of the song.

To bring this project to completion, I chose the audio I wanted to use, and placed a few idea variations on paper in the form of storyboards. After having these ideas looked over, I created a mood board to get a good sense of what would work with the song visually. Using the mood board and the storyboards, I proceeded to make an animatic in After Effects. After viewing the animatic in class, I took my peers' criticism into consideration while producing the animation. After the animation was completed and viewed in class, there were still some parts that could be improved, according to my peers. So, after one final session of editing, the final animation came to be.

This is my personal favorite of the three projects that we completed for this class, and I had the most fun with this one. It makes me want to do more projects like this in the future.
