This exercise was a study and exploration of typography fundamentals through a series of typographic layouts. We were required to create 5 completely different layouts for each series. The first series utilized simple 10 point type in Univers. The second allowed the addition of bold and oblique forms. The third added scale and opacity. The fourth series called for different uses of axis. And the fifth and final stage featured a graphic element while used in pairs.
This assignment required sensitivity to hierarchy while paying special attention to space and scale. It was important to utilize all areas of typography to achieve 25 striking layouts.
