a portrait among stars
all mass has gravitational force,
what's orbiting you?
For a long time, this idea lied in my idea jar, a cutlery holder full of sticky notes with all sorts of plans for future projects that I'd think of in the most random times. I'm not quite sure where that jar went, but I never forgot this idea and I decided to finally bring it to life.
I don't remember when I thought of this image, but I do remember thinking about how interesting it would be to experiment with a portrait with different lighting on two sides by some surreal object, like a star. That you don't find floating by your face very often.
This is also the first personal project where I broke a rule I now realized I cannot keep—to make projects only using images and materials that I create. I definitely didn't have the equipment to capture the sun, so I found some free stock images. Having done, something I've never done, I've also begun to upload my own stock images to aid others in their projects (there's a link in my profile) because if nobody had done that, this project may have looked entirely different.
