Portrait shots of a Heteronympha merope and one of the most beautiful insects that I have had the opportunity to photograph.

I found this butterfly on the night of June 3, trapped on a ceiling outside and with a high probability of getting devoured by lizards. I then took it indoors to take some photos. It was quite surprising that all throughout my photo session, it didn't move an inch, which gave me a lot of opportunity to frame and compose better. After several minutes of photographing this beauty, I freed the butterfly and hoping it's safe in the dark night.

Shot with a Sony A7RII + Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS @ 1/3 sec., f/5.6, and ISO 100.
