One-off: The Painter and Her Beloved
Jan. 2017
This started as a study of old masters work and turned into a fun gift for a friend. I wanted to do a study of Lord Frederick Leighton’s piece “The Painter and Her Beloved” and realized that the male model looked a lot like my friend’s significant other. My study was done on a piece of leftover watercolor paper sized so that the illustration would be 6” x 5”. I began with a pencil sketch, then inked the piece with sepia colored ink.

“Lord Frederick Leighton - study ‘The Painter and Her Beloved’-ink” Jan. 2017. Ink (sepia). 6" x 5"

The final illustration was sent to my friend as a gift.
Happily be!
