This was a set of illustrations that I have illustrated for LANDOR Associates, Singapore during my time as an intern for SOSRO Tehbotol. These visuals were illustrated for its concept development phase, and I wanted to showcase the conceptual thinking and inspiration behind the visuals.
Inspiration Moodboard
The inspiration for the illustration came from referencing traditional linocut motifs, as the rough and natural visual aesthetic of the linocut communicates our idea for the representation of the earthy and natural look of the brand, SOSRO Tehbotol, and it's country of origin, Indonesia.
Landscapes of Indonesia
For the series, I illustrated various visuals centered around the iconic bottle of Tehbotol, recognizable only to the people of Indonesia. The idea we had developed was to illustrate the landscapes of Indonesia around the bottle. Creating a visual that communicates a brand that is authentically Indonesian. The landscapes invoke a sense of pride and belonging of home, illustrating and interpreting the Indonesian culture that is colorful, lively and passionate.
The Icon of Indonesia
The icon of Indonesia, the Sumatran Tiger. I illustrated the visual around the iconic bottle that represented the sense of pride that is unapologetic and unwavering Indonesian. This sense of pride shows a nation whose people are overflowing with contagious energy, that fierce and strong Indonesian spirit, that is like that of a Tiger.
The Heart of Every Table
This illustration was illustrated for a spread that was to be featured in the Indonesian publication, SHIFT Magazine. It depicts our vision for SOSRO Tehbotol where a bottle of Tehbotol will be on every Indonesian table, everyday. To be every Indonesian's drink of choice, and to inspire moments of togetherness, belonging, and national pride.
