The Tombstone Thunderbird
I did this as an experiment to see how 'authentic' looking I could make it. The subject is a bizarre news story from newspaper 'The Tombstone Epitaph' from the 19th Century which described how some cowboys shot and killed a giant bird - possibly the legendary 'Thunderbird' of native American lore. Many people remember seeing a picture printed in an old magazine which is described as being either a giant eagle or a Pterodactyl. I thought a Pterodactyl would be more fun! This image was printed in Fortean Times magazine.
