This is a project for topology. Reference from the Zoombie in Wreck It Ralph (Disney) by Stefano Dubay:
I sculpt the base model in Maya, then retopology, finishing with the high-resolution model. Render with V-ray in Maya (the texture is simply V-ray material with color).
