"El zarco" was a well-known hitman "sicario"
from Medellin Colombia who became popular after playing on Vitor Gaviria movie "La vendedora de rosas" in 1998.
Many of the actors that starred in the film are now dead or in prison. Giovanni Quiroz (EL Zarco) was murdered in Medellín and Leidy Tabares (the star of the movie) was incarcerated for her involvement in the murder of a taxi driver in Medellín.
