I created a 30 second and 15 second motion graphics book trailer for Bloomsbury’s “The Monster Who Wasn’t” by T.C. Shelley using hand-made mark making textures, After Effects and Photoshop to generate backgrouds and assets. The age demographic was for 11 years and older and consisted of a dramatic, suspenseful narrative placed in a reality-based fantasy world.
Because I was confident in using a graphics tablet and creating finished illustrations I decided to utilise this to the best of my ability and generate as many textures, illustrations and assets as I could, while dabbling in rudimentary fluid animation.
The moment I finished this first scene, it set the style and atmosphere of the rest of the trailer. All backgrounds and assets were completed in the span of a week following this.
