Brief
Starting with the three words that created by typography designed in previous task, you will design a series of three book covers, along with some sample internal pages and a screen-based promotional layout. The book format is 150mm wide x 230mm high with a 20mm spine.
The three covers should demonstrate consistency in a design series as well as the individual interpretation needed for each title. The cover fronts should include the title, author, and the back cover should include 150 words of text, and ephemera such as barcode and ISBN (conduct some research on actual books to see what is usually present).
The spine should include the book title (this doesn’t necessarily have to use the front cover title treatment), the author’s name and a publisher’s logo. The cover will also require you to create of additional, compelling imagery yourself.
The text spread should be designed for legibility as a contemporary textbook, coffee table book or similar (not a novel), with a good selection of text hierarchy. For example, headers, page numbers, body text, an image and caption and so on.
Additionally, you will create a screen design—either a web page design or a storyboard for an animation—which will be used to promote your book series. You should consider the arrangement of the book cover designs along with key text that promotes the book series.
