My first approach this project was to come up with a complex story driven by fresh sound bites and new video. So I went out an captured an early morning time-lapse with the Sony NEX FS-100 thinking the shot might make a great opener. In the end, the time-lapse became the story. Simple wins again.
The sounds bites came from previous news episodes covering the progress of the Broadway/Euclid project. Reusing content is a value added bonus and helps to create more time to focus on collecting higher value footage or constructing creative edits. In this case, it just made sense to use previous clips to tell the story of a look back at a major transportation project.
The Sony NEX FS-100 was set to record at 1 frame per second with a 1 frame per second shutter speed to create the blurred motion.
