This project was devoted to experimenting with a minimalist illustration style representing or symbolic of some of the memorable places or highlights of my life. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this project. The use of the heavy weighted lines forced me to stay within the bounds of simplistic design and maintain balance and depth. I was able to mix my love for icon design and spot illustrations in one project. It was extremely tempting to not make this a bright and colorful endeavor.
We've lived in the city for the longest time now and we've absolutely loved the hustle and bustle, with tons of lovely coffee shops to work from and all the awesome restaurants that we're going to miss...
...because we're moving to Suburbicon ;)  We're moving to the 'burbs because we're buying a house. Because! Our cats don't have enough space in the apartment we live in. Yes, we got the bond and we did it for the cats...
Why do we work so hard anyway? We’ve long contemplated quitting this rat race and living like nomads. Pitching our tent in the countryside, no down-payments, no bond, no house  - but we’d really struggle without people and wi-fi...
...let's move on from such radical ideas. A good catch up with my wife on a cold and dull winter's evening with some hot chocolate by the fireplace is all I ever asked for...
Remember when life was much simpler, happiness was just a fun little slide, we could just swing our worries away and be completely lost on the merry-go-round...
...or the sound of the ice-cream truck that brought great joy? It wasn't just the ice-cream, but the truck itself was something to behold...
...or a ride on the famous double-decker bus, in the front seat on top with the breeze soothing all anxiety and worries of life...
...instead it's become this office that I actually love and a job that brings me immense pleasure. It gives me the ability to create and build someone else’s dream... but it was about time we created our own...
...it's time to invite our little baby girl into this world and begin this new chapter of becoming parents. We’re beyond excited and can’t wait to have this bundle of joy with us!
