For our Studio Project 4, we were tasked to identify one area of interest, propose and prototype a solution that meets users’ needs. There are 3 areas of interest to choose from or we can come up with another one: Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart Health and Wellness.
My group and I decided to focus on Smart Health and Wellness - catering to Dementia patients and their loved ones. We came up with physical products, a mobile application linking to the product and a website to view the purpose of our brand. The products are Smart watch and Smart bangle.
The idea is to help dementia patients - stage 4 and below to stay safe and prevent them from getting lost. They will be the ones wearing the smart watch or smart bangle - depending on the preferences.
The mobile application is for caregivers/ loved ones to track their elderly suffering from dementia. They will receive a notification once their elderly is hurt. They are able to track the elderly's blood pressure, location and distance from home as well. Caregivers and loved ones can record and customize voice messages which is linked to the products to remind the elderly that they're far from home. They can unlock the smart watch and bangles with the unlock function to charge.The battery life of the smart watch can be seen on the home screen as well, aside from those mentioned above.
The website allows the loved ones to view our brand's purpose, view our products - to purchase them, our mobile app and it's functions and to contact us if they have any queries.
