There is something about thoughtfully placed flatlay photography that soothes me.
Bonus if it is photographed well.
Personally Photographer Naina Gahlaut ( https://www.instagram.com/nainagahlaut/?hl=en )does it best and I am in awe everytime I see her work.
So I wanted to take it a step further ,admiration or inspiration, and illustrate her creations.
I used to feel uneasy drawing from an existing photograph and sharing it. I guess it has something to do with "imposter syndrome" most artists face. Where you draw a line between inspiration and copying.
But I realised all this that I am drawing is part of my technical learning process. What I do when I see and draw is observe, analyse how to create a texture I'm seeing in the photograph, what medium works best , how can I achieve the light, shadows etc. 90% of it is about understanding singular elements and hardly about JUST copying it and never about using it for commercial/ selling purposes.
So here is the artwork and the original image .
