Fortress Island (Photography Set)
All of these photographs were taken using a camera equipped only with a monochrome sensor - they were not converted from colour images. Monochrome sensors have a much higher sensitivity, allowing images to be taken without a flash in areas with little natural light. The natural moods of these decaying structures (neolithic, Victorian and Nazi) have been carefully maintained. The images were taken on the channel island of Alderney, which has the highest concentration in the world of surviving Nazi fortifications.
