How To: The Balthus Knot

Filmmaking

Conception to Completion
This project was a compilation of four weeks worth of assignments. The process consisted of storyboarding, light sourcing, rough cuts, editing, audio and final cuts. The intended audience was individuals who wanted to standout from the crowd, teen and adult viewers.
Editing Software: Premiere Pro and GarageBand
Conception
Storyboards were created in Keynote, to apply organization to a series of shot sequences and narration, which would make-up the final video. The storyboards outlined various MS, CU and POV shots, as well as narration, timestamps, lighting and music sources.
Completion
The final video resulted in an informal, comical instructional video on How to Tie a Balthus Knot. There were scenes shot in both outdoor and indoor settings. The indoor scenes were shot against a green screen then replaced with glitter backgrounds. Split screens featuring different angles for tie demonstration purposes were incorporated to enhance engagement. The goal was to provide varied perspectives for the audience to relate to, as well as keep their attention.
