RECYCLED PIXEL
Leather weaves are very much in trend this year and leather is a great material for braiding and weaving. It is soft and pliable and can be cut into different numbers of strands easily using the same techniques. One of my favorite things about these kinds of techniques is that they create subtle variations in texture that add a lot of visual interest to a design.
The project is based on sustainability. The company I was working in was throwing the samples of leather weaves (5” X 5”), they received a few years back, so I decided to put them to a good use and made footwear out of them.
