Octop Surf and Skate Shop
Octop is a brand concept for an exciting new surf and skate shop targeted towards the outgoing and adventurous. Catered toward beach goers, this brand showcases the unique fusion of the sleek and playful elements of surfboards and skateboards.
The flowing curves of this design were inspired by ocean life and perfectly mimic the rhythm required for riding waves and skateboards. The grace of the octopus also makes it the perfect mascot for a beach front shop, reflecting the fluid motions needed to surf or skate. Octop Surf and Skate Shop, flow don't float.
The following images are parts of my design process. I explored multiple font options that mimicked the movement of an octopus, before settling on Kitten swatch. Next I translated the "O" to have similar elements as my octopus logo below, thus creating a more cohesive branding image. After designing the octopus logo, I edited it into the Surf & Skate Shop logo for the branding identity aspect of this project.
