Goal: Increasing familiarity with programs, character design, and referencing. Increase time management skills and ability to complete a self-imposed challenge.

Description: This sketch was made as self-imposed challenge to create a unique character from a reference. I used images of a leatherback sea turtle and magical girl cartoons as my references to create an interesting mermaid! I created a custom Photoshop brush to give the image a 'hand drawn' feel.
