Game Design: Desert Slither
This project allowed me to build my beggining skills in Unity and game
design. Knowing nothing about Unity or where to even begin building a game, this project taught me to save every single step in the process and always stay organized!! Designing a 2D game allowed for me to stretch my skills in illustration and to bring them into the world of digital animation. The end result of this project results in a fully functional 2D game, where the user plays as a desert snake. In order to win the game you must catch five desert flowers before running out of health from being attacked by the evil cowboy boot and tumble weed!

The final game results in a movinganimation of the snake character that can slither and jump. The background moves with the character in order to further emphasize the effect of movement on the player. Each sprite, back, middle and foreground were done in watercolor and then altered in photoshop to layer on top of each other. The two enemies, flame cowboy boot and tumbleweed, if touched cause the snake to jump back and decrease the health bar.  When the player interacts with the desert flowers, a sparkle particle system appears inplace of the caught flower. With every flower the snake catches a number on the right side of the screen increases. With five desert flowers caught, you win the game. Catch as many flowers as you can before the enemies kill you!
