The Brief & Introduction

When I was first introduced to Shawn, the founder and CEO of Chester Street Foundation, a coworker and mutual contact asked me for assistance with minor color correction on a brochure that was designed through a less than reputable fly-by-night creative services website. I quickly came to the conclusion that the brochure, and brand as a whole, was piecemealed together somewhat haphazardly.

The original logotype consisted of a font derived from the Star Trek font, named "NCC-1701," awkwardly paired with Franklin Gothic Medium. Each element teetering on top the next with little regard for hierarchy or legibility.

The original logo with the paired Star Trek The Next Generation font–insert Capt. Picard shame meme here.
The updated logo with a more agreeable pairing of Futura PT Bold & Medium.
