In Japanese, the phrase "Mugen" means infinity (無限), dream and fantasy (夢幻) – and it was this exact phrase that inspired the concept of a new Portland noodle bar.
The owners commissioned Top level designer and illustrator Bubupanda to create a mural for the interior, one that would embody their fantasy of infinite noodles and recipes. Bubupanda, also known as Tania, went to work on a fantastical composition that combines Japanese illustration styles with quirky, avant-garde motifs inspired by Oregon's culture and diverse landscape. Surreal with a twist of happiness, the mural features a typical scene one might find in a mind-blowing anime, with never-ending noodles to represent infinity.
The result is a stunning large-scale artwork that customers can enjoy while they eat a bowl of tasty ramen.
