Kanji Memo is teaching the basics of Japanese Kanji. Funded by the FFF Bayern, it was created as a memory game, where the player has to match a Kanji with an image associated to it. The Kanji are tailored towards learners who want to do the JLPT N5 Test, so the game is a great addition to learning and remembering Kanji!
As inspiration we drew from patterns, that could be found on kimonos or in japanese architecture. With the sketches we did some color tests and setteled for a dark blue palette with yellow and red highlights.
For each Kanji we created an Icon that shows it's meaning.
The game will be released on iOS and Android and supports over 10 different languages!
