We create a lot of things, but every newly-designed object – even the most eco-friendly one – consumes resources that the planet is unable to provide in sufficient amounts.
For this reason I tried to find a way of working with objects already in existence, not adding anything „new“.
Inspired by postwar tailors, the various pieces are cut out of old, worn-out furniture with the help of patterns.
The lamps, however, are primarily made of veneered, press-board furniture. Through the use of open cutting edges and ultra-thin milling grooves more facets are added to the material. The open cutting edges also touch on the process of cutting and the material‘s modified context. The lamp‘s shape varies in regards to length, tilt and material.
