Keep Their Story Going

‘Keep Their Story Going’ is a national campaign that aims to celebrate and bring awareness to the community of organ donation. Within the campaign, an ellipsis is used as a recognisable symbol for donation. The typographic device represents the continuation of life where an end would otherwise be.

Addressing the community of potential donors, the digital poster enables ‘you’ to see the effect ‘you’ could have as a donor. It changes to reveal images of different recipients and by using CCTV, ends with faces of the public. The message ‘We wouldn’t be here without you...’ addresses the public directly, encouraging them to sign up and save lives.
Addressing the existing community of donors, the leaflet celebrates their decision and recognises their contribution. It highlights the importance for families to know each others wishes. The opening of the leaflet and the nine grid format reiterates the message in the video: ‘by becoming an organ donor, you could save the lives of up to eight people’.
Using the iPhone emergency Medical ID, the organ donation symbol can be digitalised as another way of identifying organ donors. To spark social media interest, giant 3D ellipsis would be installed in popular cities, realising the idea of an end becoming a continuation. The two vantage points show the installation as both a full stop and an ellipsis.
