National Building Museum | HOOPS

Project
Christine Lefebvre Design provided exhibition design services for HOOPS: Community Portraits by Bill Bamberger, currently on view at the National Building Museum. The exhibition "presents a rich and diverse selection of private and community basketball courts from around the nation and across the globe."

CLD provided space planning and developed elevations and floor plans for the 2,800 square foot exhibition, and designed the visual identity—including color palette, typography, and graphic design. CLD playfully explored the concept of "hoops" by specifying that the gallery's distinctive arches be painted in bright colors and carrying this graphic element onto the floor, via custom vinyl floor decals. Working closely with the curator, photograph arrangement was carefully considered. Graphic templates were provided to the NBM's in-house design department to produce final production artwork.
