Most of the work I have been doing the past years, started and ended as just pixels.
They would only exist on my computer for a bit, they would than be sent via the digital highway to a client, and eventually the pixels wouldn’t be used anymore after the campaign is over. The pixels would slowly die and fade away.
I started to feel the urge to create something tactile and tangible, work that is more than a pixel on a screen. I wanted to create work that just exists to be looked at.
To be looked at, and enjoyed. Nothing more, nothing less.
This insight leads to an ongoing exploration, taking my digital CGI work and translating it to personally screen printed artwork.
I’m happy to finally share the first couple of prints and introduce my webshop!
In January 2019 I launched my Relativity series, which was the starting point for this screen print. I have always been fascinated by the relativity theory and how it applies to the concept of time. The idea that time is never absolute and the speed of time can change depending on how fast you are moving and accelerating is a difficult thing to wrap my head around. I can get lost in thinking about time and how it’s just a human concept. We feel time as something linear, but it’s just our perception of it.
Playing around with all those ideas and thoughts I created this series of hourglasses visualising the fluidity of time. I took this concept and designed this screen print.
First version was a blue on white A3 250 g/m2 Biotop paper. After that I explored a second colourway, slightly different render, with orange-salmon-neon on a & 160 g/m2 Clairefontaine Peach Coloured paper.

This screen print is based on a styleframe exploration I did. Sometimes, in the process of exploring a visual language you find things that don't get used by a client. In between that stuff there are some hidden gems - that is how Gem001 ended up in my portfolio.
When I started exploring screen printing again, I quickly realised that Gem001 could be a great base for a screen print!
The first colourway comes in neon pink, which jumps of the A2 250 g/m2 Biotop paper. The second colourway is a salmony pink, printed without background with a faded feel to it, also on A2 250 g/m2 Biotop paper.
